What Frappe Cloud actually gives you
Every option below — self-serve, a partner, Parsimony, or your own server — runs on the same open-source Frappe framework. The difference is who operates it. Here's the vocabulary, because "hosting" hides a few distinct decisions.
- Site
- One ERPNext installation: one URL, one database, your company's data. This is the unit you're actually hosting.
- Bench
- The app environment a site runs on — the Frappe framework plus whichever apps are installed (ERPNext, Frappe HR, or a custom app). Frappe Cloud's shared plans put several customers' sites on a shared bench; a private bench is one bench for one account.
- Custom app installs
- Installing a custom Frappe app — anything beyond stock ERPNext — needs a private bench, which is why entry-level Frappe Cloud plans are cheap and custom-app plans cost more.
- Backups and restores
- A backup is a full database and files snapshot you can restore from, on your own site or a fresh one. Who takes it, how often, and how it's tested is the real question behind every "hosting" comparison — not just the sticker price.

ECOSIRE's June 2026 hosting comparison puts a generic managed partner at $100–$400/month all-inclusive, and self-hosting at $25–$150/month in server cost plus 4–10 hours/month of DevOps time (loaded as $400–$1,000/month if you don't already employ that person). Operator Note
How to choose
Self-serve Frappe Cloud is the official path if you want to operate the site yourself and don't need custom apps yet. Self-host only if you already have Linux and bench capacity on your team — otherwise the DevOps hours quietly become the real bill. A managed partner is the middle path: someone else runs the infrastructure, you keep the custom apps and region choice.

What's the difference between a bench and a site?
A site is one ERPNext installation — one URL, one database, your data. A bench is the app environment it runs on: the Frappe framework plus whichever apps (ERPNext, Frappe HR, a custom app) are installed. Frappe Cloud can run several customers' sites on a shared bench, or give one customer a private bench for custom app installs.

Can I bring my own Frappe Cloud account?
Tell us on the quote call. Cloud ERP is scoped per business, and whether we stand up a new Frappe Cloud site or fold in one you already have is part of that scope, not a fixed policy.

Who owns the site?
You do. ERPNext and Frappe are open source, and the site, its data, and its configuration are yours. Parsimony manages the hosting and the operations; it doesn't create a proprietary lock-in.

What happens if I leave?
You take the site and the data with you — export it, self-host it, or move it to another partner. There's no proprietary format to migrate out of, because ERPNext is open source.

Do you host Frappe HR or other Frappe apps?
Frappe HR and the rest of the Frappe ecosystem run on the same bench model as ERPNext, so installing and maintaining them is part of a managed Frappe Cloud site. Scope and price are part of the same custom quote as ERPNext.

Does Parsimony publish a monthly ERP price?
No. Cloud ERP is custom-quoted, based on migration scope, modules, and user count. Automate, the marketing-automation product, is the one with public monthly pricing.
